pigiron
Heyyyy brought back a few memories this thread. I was a punk in the 80,s and I went to Dobcroft religiously , also Dore now and again , and last but not least I never used to miss the disco's @ Toltey Youth club . I remember Dobcroft used to play Doctor Who theme at the end of every night. Anyone remember Derek Doman ? Is he still alive even . Happy Days You went to Dobcroft in the 80's and ask after Derek Doman. I went to Dobcroft in the late 50's and Derek was running the show even in those days. I remember he had a Riley 1.5 and then made us all jealous by getting a Sunbeam Alpine.
chunkyfunky
As a young girl I went to a place in Pitsmoor called the Helen Wilson Settlement it was a playcentre for youngsters and enjoyed it very much so I recall. As I got older and moved from that area I went to Meynell Rd youth club.

Sotonowl
Yes Herdings was one of my haunts along with my husband and his cousins (anyone know the Yellott family?). Yes the legendary Ted Jenkins OBE was there then (1968.) Prior to that, I used to go to St Teresa's on Prince of Wales Road for a time with an ex-boyfriend about 65/66. My kids also used to go to Earl Marshal where another legend worked, Gwen Harris. Happy days . I knew them well,Big and little Frank,Peter,Alan,Carole If memory serves right.
