Ritchie gets the sack at Oakwell

Recommended Posts

So Andy Ritchie has become the latest managerial casualty at the revolving door of Oakwell. It seems every manager has the occupancy expectancy of an Italian Government. Another season, another manager. That must be at least six in the last seven years. And Barnsley will be no better off for it. Barnsley occupy one of the relegation spots because they're not good enough for the Championship. No money meant they couldn't strengthen the team. But the manager is always the casualty. Never the chairman or directors - until of course they've had so many managers they have nobody else to blame. Still, money needed to strengthen the team will be spent paying up yet another managerial contract.

They sacked him because he (Ritchie) wouldn't buy any new players! He wanted to repay the players loyalty by giving them a chance in the Championship.
