The Holy Trinity Church,on Nursery St, was mentioned on another thread. I recollect it had a courtyard at the back, and a large hall. The hall was used as a gymnasium, Wrestling mats, weight training, perhaps Boxing sometime. I mention the latter because I recall a guy, a good boxer, used to go there,

Jackie Hudson. I think he went there just to use the weights.

I remember he got married and that was it, like you do.

Anybody, still alive, remember him, did he ever win anything, apart from his missus?

The gym was run by a guy named 'Chick'. Never knew his proper name.

Come to think of it, there was another gym, in a building opposite the Infirmary, on St Philips Road, anybody remember that one.

They did gymnastics there, a very good gym.
