gularscute
The Sheaf View has some decent beers but some of the bar staff are a bit cocky and irritating.
Ivor&Mel
I'll second or third recommendations for Kelham Island Tavern and The Flat Cap. Been to both many times with visitors to the city; never been let down by the variety and quality of ales available, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and repeat visits are always requested. They're both pretty central and located within a couple of minutes' staggering walking distance of each other.
firecracker
Prohibition, The Living Room, Browns, Slug and Lettuce, Firefly, Tiger Tiger. Pity you have to travel 35 or so miles to get to them.
Meaks
I'm glad they are 35 miles away. Pretentious, over-priced tat. Give me a decent Sheffield boozer any day.

tomstarr
Prohibition, The Living Room, Browns, Slug and Lettuce, Firefly, Tiger Tiger. : Sorry but the only one of those that is any good is Prohibition, the others are just poor. I agree that good bars in Sheffield are few and far between but I would say bars like 23, The Harley, and Lounge at least have a little more to them
Kamble
Hi Gularscute - I've always got on really well with the staff at the sheaf, never found them cocky or irritating myself. Specific incident or general feeling?
