Lestat
Things are quiet on the Wednesday thread at the mo CB, we are quietly contented with our season. Different story on the blades thread though - a hive of activity as everyone discusses ways of crawling back into the woodwork for next season. LOL! And there will soon be an influx of red & white deck chair shirts for sale on eBay in the summer too when all those 'fans' think about who to support next season! madowl
West Brom 0-1 Sheffield Wednesday football365.com: Deon Burton kept Sheffield Wednesday's faint Coca-Cola Championship play-off hopes alive with a second-half winner against Tony Mowbray's nine-man West Brom. Burton extended the Owls unbeaten run to 10 matches with a 59th-minute strike - his 12th of the season - and they are now just three points outside of the top six. It ended Albion's slim chances of breaking into the automatic promotion spots and, to add to their misery, Neil Clement and Darren Carter were sent off in injury-time. Clement was given a straight red card after headbutting Leon Clarke and Carter quickly followed after receiving his second booking of the game. A run of five home matches without a win has severely damaged West Brom's hopes of booking a quickfire return to the Barclays Premiership.
CHAIRBOY
Post-match interview from Laws: "Can I just say one more thing, I'd like to wish Scunthorpe all the best tomorrow and that they can clinch promotion?" Kind thought - top man!

That's a bit of a misleading sentence - they were only down to 9 men for the last 2 minutes.

CHAIRBOY
Officials did well. It was clearly over the line and both the dismissed players hadn't a leg to stand on. I would expect Mowbray to fine them for their irresponsible conduct. They've let their club down and it could prove to be extremely costly. What a waste of time Kamara is, frightened to head a ball. Even though they lost at home to Sunderland, Southampton look a much better team than WBA. Owls? perhaps too little too late because of the number of teams that would have to blow it.
