Freddy
I was impressed by the Saffron Club, Indian restaurant on Glossop Road. Not your usual rough curry after 5-6-7 pints! Bit different to the usual 'posh nosh' too.

Ade65
Hi, West 10 is good, if you don't get there try for Wasabisabi, it's excellent. Ade
Bago
I didn't think that Artisan had a Michelin star too. If he is that much of a foodie, then maybe it is best to take him to a Michelin starred place. I think Fischer and Old Vicarage is the only two places near Sheffield, which has. My personal recommendation which isn't Michelin and is a bit of a foodie place is: - Marco @ Milano (Italian modern) - Pudding Ladies in Millhouse Park Cafe (it's a nice setting, and okay food) - Wasabisabi (For the variety. It's not British modern, or French, or Italian) - Nonnas (Italian) I've yet to try 23 and Walnut Club, which is supposed to be similar to Artisan. British Modern with Italian twists or something like that.

We are planning to go there this weekend (or next if our colds haven't gone!)

kitty123
Thanks all for your help ended up at west 10 last night, it was great, great but busy bar, resturant and service fantastic and food amazing the chef came out to chat with diners at the end of the evening. Most important my bloke loved it, will def go back and would reccommend to others found it suprisingly reasonable as well. Thanks again
Bayleaf
If you want a long, leisurly meal, with friendly service and great French/English food, then try Lahlous at Commonside, Walkley. It's very intimate.
