Star24*
Hi, After leaving Zeugma on London rod after the nicest meal ever! I noticed an Irish place on the Corner near Rossi's? Is this a snack place or a resturant? Does anyone know of any places in Sheff that do proper Irish food? Thanks
Halibut
Hi, After leaving Zeugma on London rod after the nicest meal ever! I noticed an Irish place on the Corner near Rossi's? Is this a snack place or a resturant? Does anyone know of any places in Sheff that do proper Irish food? Thanks The place you're referring to is called Bohan's and the food is excellent - they use stuff sourced in Ireland. It's primarily a takeout place although I think you can sit up at a bar to eat some of the grub. I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

Bohans
No, currently we don't open in the evening's, we are having difficulty finding a chef that meets our high standards....anyone have access to cloning facilities? In the meantime we are open: Tuesday to Friday, 8.00am to 3.00pm and Saturday 9.00am to 3.00pm As for food, we serve a variety of sandwiches and hot food. We specialise in our breakfast sandwiches and homemade pies and specials. We source a lot of our products from Ireland (and make a lot of our stuff in the kitchen) and take our inspiration from good old fashioned Irish homecooking. Many of the recipes we use have been handed down by the Bohan family and include soda bread, homemade corned beef and colcannon. Our specials include (so what is Irish food?) beef and Guinness pies, calconnon topped pies, bacon, cabbage and split pea broth, boxty, scallops and or course Irish stew! to name but a few. So far you've been telling us that you love the food (you nominated us for the Exposed Magazine Best Cafe 2006 award - pipped at the post by Bragazzi's and well deserved too:thumbsup: ) but you want us to open longer and we are trying.....on that note, how long is longer? Do you think we would be best going for early dinner every night (until around 6.00 ish) or staying open much later on selected nights (say Thursday, Friday and Saturday until 9.00 ish?)...and how early do you look for a good cooked breakfast on a Sunday? Now we are asking eh? Thanks for all your support so far! Love from us at Bohan's Irish Kitchen

Bohans
Hello all - what a great day!! Bring on the sunshine! We do a great veggie breakfast - the Emerald - vegetarian sausage, egg, field mushroom and oven roasted tomato. The soups are generally vegetarian and we try to do at least one pie or special everyday. As for the corned beef, we do try to have it on everyday. It takes three days to make which means if we have a corned beef rush on (and you'd be suprised!) we can't just pop to the shops to stock-up - glad you like it though, it's great with either the Irish Stout chutney or the homemade pickled red cabbage.
