Elwood
Been there a few times. First time was many years ago on a lovely, summer's day. The park area was populated with lots of hippie types who were lazing around. Many were playing instruments either solo or in groups. Very atmospheric. As the years passed by the place has become more and more commercialised and very, very touristy - for obvious reasons. Last time I went was Spring of last year and I found the place to be very crowded and, in places, quite dirty. It was very disappointing.

Longcol
Went last Whit (early summer bank holiday). It's busy - the bit round the river and the Royal Shakespeare company the two or three old streets down that end are well worth seeing plus the short walk to Shakespeares birthplace. Very big car park close to town over the river from the town centre with a little cable ferry over the river. Car park could be better signed though. Worth a day trip - and the countryside round about - especially going down to the Cotswolds, makes a long weekend worthwhile.
Tess
Morning all - sorry to resurrect an old thread but me and fella have settled for the less glamerous Stratford upon Avon for my birthday and have booked into a lovely hotel with all good reviews, so the next question is what on earth is there to do? I've had a look online and you have the usual tourist attractions - Shakespears house etc but does anybody know anything a bit further afield? I've spotted Warwick Castle which i'd like to give a go but not sure of much else? Thanks

It's quite expensive and Tussauds (Owners) have added a lot of unneccessary waxwork models. I'm not sure if they're running the daily medieval tournaments this year but if they are they're well worth watching. http://www.warwick-castle.co.uk/

Nagel
The Cotswolds eg Broadway - are well worth a visit. Yup. I think Chipping Campden is closer and cuter than Broadway, but do both if you can.
