Ousetunes
Does anyone know why these two tennis courts, situated at the junction of Graham and Hangingwater Road (Nethergreen) are known as St. Andrew's? There isn't a church nearby associated with St. Andrew and I think the only church that used to known by this name was at Nether Edge (NOT Nethergreen). To whom or which organisation, church, school or body did/do these courts belong? I guess many people will not even know they exist. In the 1970s I lived behind them on Hangingwater Close; our house overlooked them and my elder brother was known to have the odd game of tennis on these courts - wearing his Doc Martin's!! Frans2755
The courts were owned by St Andrews Presbyterian church, upper Hannover street, Sheffield.
