medusa
Surely the whole point of buying a Pyrex dish rather than just a glass dish is because of the heat resistance? Why pay the premium price otherwise?
Thorpist
I have just experienced an exploding pyrex jug that was in a kitchen cupboard with no one in the vicinity. The jug has not been used for weeks and nothing could have fallen on it. I know they can explode due to thermal shock but this is not an issue in this case. The glass was all over the place and I dread to think what it would have been like if it was on a work surface with anyone near. Due to the size of the fragments left it cannot be identified although I do have the bowl which was bought with the jug as a set less than 12 months ago. My issue is do I report this to pyrex or put it down to chance.
