Meaks
I hope some of the old tat will remain and the refurb won't make the place too sterile. Big question - will the cask beers remain?
happyhippy
Big question - will the cask beers remain? Restoring The Rutland’s long established reputation for providing quality, reasonably priced food and real ales will be a key priority, along with restoration of the beer garden and the building’s exterior features. Looks that way! All the very best to the plug people, and I hope to be down soon!
BasilRathbon
Excellent news! Now the next big question; will the excellent (and unique) Chicken in mushroom and stilton sauce make it back onto the menu?

Gutted though, just stopped working about five minutes away .. so won't be able to sample the garden for weekday lunches when it is restored. Still, great news ... thanks Plug! richjob
Thank you and good luck. I have so many happy memories of the Rutland. Summers in the beer garden, my 30th birthday party with a cake special made by Big John - long time ago, boxing day all day drinking and my sister had her wedding reception in there. Several years ago I was a volunteer with the LGB Youth Group and Phillip was always generous with us using the upstairs room. Can I also wish Phillip the very best of health and happiness for the future. xx
