I remember the old groundsman (Eric) who never chased you off, but as soon as Baldy arrived it was a scramble for the bushes and over the fence. To say he was retired that guy could run and many a time you escaped over the fence in the nick of time. He lived on Delf St, and i think he thought the field was his own property, even though we only wanted to play football or dens in the trees, i have the feeling he just hated kids.
