ricky36
Is it not time that smokers stop their continous whinging? The ban is in place and no amount of chest beating and ill informed arguements will change this. Big Ang if your mother is still smoking maybe this is the reason for her ill health..for goodness sake, is her smoking that important that she stops socialising? Reference Asthma, Big Ang once again you amaze me with your ignorance, as a Asthma Specialist the smoking habits of parents is more harmful than any other environmental triggers with the eception of viral illnesses. Drop me a message and I will refer you to all the clinical research to back this up. I still see children brought in as emergencys with excarbetion of their Asthma and their clothes stink of smoke from their parents. We treat the child knowing that the parents will continue to smoke near them, selfish and ignorant! Seperate areas for smokers who collects the glasses? The staff how would be exposed to harmful chemicals that are actually banned from the workplace! If you look around Europe you will fund that most countries are introducing bans, soon you will be left with only your homes to smoke in, role on those days. So once again smokers, you are the minority so get used to it! I refer to the last paragraph 95% of the people in Europe dont take any notice of the bans and more important it is never enforced, In France and Spain it is completely ignored. muddycoffee
I think it is a fair point. Smoking is an extremely selfish vice, and I have never seen an active smoker who understands just how utterly unpleasent it is for everyone else. bigwind
I was referring to tens of thousand of smokers who have died from heart and lung disease as well as related cancers as opposed to 100% of non-smokers who die of various ailments, mainly stopping breathing., none of us live for ever, when your numbers up off you trot to the pearly gates irrespective of the fact you may or may not be a smoker. funny how often you see sportsmen & women , joggers, kit fit fanatics dying prematurely on a regular basis, maybe we should ban sport as well as a way of protecting them from themselves we may as well all curl up now and wait to die, coz our cars are killing us, the food we eat is killing us, the jobs we do are killing us , the weather is killing us, booze is killing us, other folks fag smoke is killing us, we're all doomed ,doomed i tell you. don't think it's a ploice state yet tho' but the nanny sure has a heavy hand in it. pluto
For all those "good" people who think it was right to ban smoking in pubs. Just think for a second if alcohol was banned ??

Shipshape
I live only half a mile from a busy section of the M1. I really hate all the fumes I get from the smokers who have their car windows wound down as they are passing. It just is not fair! Also when I drive my 3 litre car on the M1 and pass motorway workmen who are smoking whilst digging the roads I feel that I am suffering from all their smoking fumes. It should be banned!
