Feline have a good national reputation because of their owner/tattoist Fiona, she doesn't specialise in Tribal designs however. She has other artists at her studio who do better tribal work.

The Ink Master at Killamarsh seems to do a lot of Tribal.

Mick at Inkredible (Scottwoodbur's studio) does freehand tribal a lot (says scott).

Check out the tribal work done by a few people at a few studio, find an artist who's work you like best, and work with him to get a good design and tat done.

(Scott: Really hope to make it down to Inkredible in a couple of weeks. Didn't get a chance again this weekend, and my wife and I have to go see the new Pirates movie on sat so won't get time this week either...)(

na worries pal, whenever suits.

Tattoo removal and custom tattoo "repairs", ironically!

My dad was a tattooist in Sheffield for many years and after a couple of years break to pursue other interests, he's back in the skin trade. He recently purchased a Softlight Laser System and underwent specialist training; He will be in the business of removals, touch-ups and cover-ups in the not too distant future ...like a sort of all-round Tattoo Doctor!

For the time being at least, he will be operating from an established Chiropody practice just out of town, trading under the name of Invisible Inc. but we're always looking out for a more central, more suitable premises in which to set up a dedicated laser clinic.

You can bet that he'll be able to undercut the current laser-removal specialists operating in Sheffield by quite a considerable margin and, who knows, once his customers' skin has been returned to it's original, clear, un-tattooed state, we may be able to send them on to you to get something half-decent put on in the old one's place! ;)

I dropped into Inkredible today and spoke to Mick. Seems a decent place, nicely set up, clean and stuff. Mick seems to know his stuff. Showed him what I want doing.

Basically I have this:

tattooleft.jpg

Which was done 10 years ago, and not very well done at all. It's a bit small too, and not central on my shoulder. What I'm after is getting it extended and made not rubbish. Kind of hard for me to articulate the kind of thing I'm after, especially as I'm completely non-arty. I like this. But it needs to integrate with the existing design (overwriting crappier bits but keeping the essence) and I want it to go down into a couple of Tribal bands with my two kids names in.

I guess something like this , but with a lozenge in the middle for the names.

Anyway, I think Mick kind of got the idea, which is amazing because I don't, and he's going to draw up a few ideas and send them to me via the forums, then I'll drop back in to work out the final design and get it done.

Quite impressed.
