semerfor if I have spelt it right thats what the indicators were called my freinds got it on is armstronge sidley 14

Snap! I thought the indicator arms were called "carrots", some later models had the indicators on the top like orange ears.

Ours came from Intake Motor Auction as did most of our first cars, we used to go along, buy one, run it until it dropped then scrap it courtesy of Charlie Wathams (not sure of spelling) then go back to auction and buy another.

Favourite car was Auto Union DKW, left hand drive so the passanger used to have to tell the driver when it was clear to overtake!

Triumph Herald (red with white bumpers) was a nightmare, doors always dropping off!

........ a Ford Popular!! Only had three forward gears, my dad bought it for me to get enough practise to get me through my test many, many years ago!! It was areal rust bucket, but it served its purpose. The police ordered it off the road.....................happy days!! Given money was not an issue, it would have to be a top of the range Range Rover, tho' quite how I would cope with all the gadgets is another matter..............it ain't going to happen so dream on!!!!

my first car was a B-reg Austin metro in sky blue. bought it for 200 quid and it had been owned by some old dear who only ever used to drive it to the shops down the road, it only had 13,000 miles on the clock and that was in 1997!! very fond memories of that car, cried my eyes out when it had to be scrapped, but i removed the number plate and it now hangs up on the wall!!

Incidently it was called the Mirth Mobile, what did you call your cars ?!

I had a red Escort and we called it " clitoris " 'cos every c***t's got one

My first car was a Mini (how original), but I had five more after that, all different models to see how they compared (1275GT was the best).

My most favourite car was a Peugeot 205 cabriolet. It was the ultimate in cheap, fun, open-top driving. I'd strongly recommend picking one up in the winter when they are around £300.

My first car was a Mini and its also a firm favourite with me -its just picking up the tab for running one that puts me off! E46 330i Sport and Toyota Celica GT4 WRC are among my faves. Be nice to say Ferrari but who would I be kidding lol......

My son informs me of his intention to buy a new car and pointed the model out to me recently - to me it looked just like every other car on the road. It reminded me of the cars I used to see as a kid that had distinct shapes - Capris, Anglias, Consuls, Minis, Morris Minors, Hillman Imps and so on...............can you remember your first car or a car that you'd love to drive again?
