francypants
I would say that its Sarah Champion's mistake for claiming it in the first place. Exactly......
mjw47
Well it's comforting to see how they have changed their behaviour following the last expenses scandal and have taken on board the public's views on the matter. I believe that this is an example of ' lessons being learned' which is what they are always quick to assure us has happened following some minor slip in public standards. The 'tough action' promised has obviously had an effect. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CDQQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.telegraph.co.uk%2Fnews%2Fnewstopics%2Fmps-expenses%2F10761548%2FMPs-expenses-A-scandal-that-will-not-die.html&ei=pi0IVZ3OGYKM7Aal-oGICA&usg=AFQjCNHUuOL9K95DNavqLcb8bMpgYPqrDQ&bvm=bv.88198703,d.ZGU&cad=rja
newcomer01
It seems to me the way that claims are conducted are a problem to M.P`s from all parties so it is simple to rectify. Remove the card facility. If the poor dears are not able to ascertain what they can or cannot use the card for ,then remove the card,Simples. Alternatively, all card use to be approved before usage.Or finally they pay for everything then supply proof of claim. Any person working in the private sector being trusted with this form of payment ,and then abusing it would be summarily dismissed with the possibility of prosecution.. Total lack of trust and certainly lacking accountability.Any self respecting party leader would knock it all on the head ,but it speaks volumes that they still allow it to happen, and we as voters allow them to do it.
