muddycoffee
The trouble with the concept of a map with all the Pubs in sheffield is it would be out of date as soon as it was printed as the amount of pubs seem to change monthly, certainly their names do. Last month to my knowledge news was about a new pub in neepsend, and a new bar at heeley bottom.
Bilge
There's this one - it's several years out of date now and not very good, but it's still probably the nearest thing to what you're after: http://sheffpub.sheffnet.co.uk/pubs/index.asp Or you could buy this: http://shop.camra.org.uk/DisplayDetail.aspx?prodid=114&secid=24 It lists every pub in Sheffield (regardless of whether it sells real ale or not)and gives little maps for each area. It's about 3 years old now so some entries are outdated, but still worth reading. CAMRA's local 'Beer Matters' mag is the best guide to pub news (available in most real ale outlets). What we really need though is a Sheffield city-region version of this London one: http://www.fancyapint.com/

happyhippy
Don't use the sheffpub one mate, it's not several years out of date; nearer a decade. And certainly don't look at the votes section, as three of the pubs in their 'top division' are the Brown Bear (top of the table , though admittedly it's from before Sam Smith's took it over and the reprobates moved in), the Norfolk Arms, Dixon Lane, and the Cannon. Blurb about the Cannon .... A busy city centre pub in the Markets area. The interior comprises a no-frills drinking area wrapped round three sides of a central bar. The Cannon does what it does very well, and though it may not suit everyone, it has a strong local following. Some of the regulars have been drinking there for fifty years or more. Use the CAMRA info Bilge provided mate .......
Bilge
Couldn't the forum provide this kind of pub/bar directory? Not sure how exactly, but it already does in an informal way (see all the separate threads on various bars), but the info could be connected to maps and listings. Maybe they're already thinking about doing this. There are a lot of rubbishy pub directory sites, but never much detail, usually out of date and biased. SF is up to date, usually provides plenty of detail and you get a variety of views.
