wickedwitch
No ,Schu was on fargate before moving to orchard square but this was before then though the shop in question could have been where Schu was situated
Tony
It was the same shop, and I *think* it was the first incarnation of Schu.

muddycoffee
I think it was Schuh. Which opened on fargate, until it got a better unit in orchard square. A friend of mine's dad was involved with the shop fitting around the train set. By the way Schuh is German for Shoe
wickedwitch
THANX FOR YOUR REPLIES BUT IT WASNT EITHER ALL MY CLAN CAN REMEMBER BOTH OF THESE SHOPS. WHEN THIS SHOP FIRST OPENED IT WAS REALLY NOVEL IT'S FLOOR WAS PARTLY GLASS AND IT HAD A TRAIN RUNNING UNDERNEATH IT . THE TIME WAS AROUND EARLY TO MID EIGHTIES, WHAM ERA. NOT SURE WETHER JEANERY WAS NEXT DOOR OR WETHER IT BECAME THIS SHOP. THE SHOE SHOP WAS'NT PART OF A CHAIN AND IT WASNT OPEN THAT LONG.

I remember being surprised to see one open in Liverpool, because I thought it was a Sheffield independant store. There is one in every major shopping centre now, but in the eighties it was a very specialist shop. Pricey, but very individual (hang on, that's what they still do!) I'm a boots addict, by the way. Shoe shops are my obsession.
