kensimmo
I too believed it was Schuh, before it became a chain. I remember being surprised to see one open in Liverpool, because I thought it was a Sheffield independant store. There is one in every major shopping centre now, but in the eighties it was a very specialist shop. Pricey, but very individual (hang on, that's what they still do!) I'm a boots addict, by the way. Shoe shops are my obsession. It was definately Ravel! My company managed the premises at the time and they were the last occupant before it became an Anne Summers outlet. The premise was owned by Clarkes and had formally been their shop.

scoop
I remember the shop you mean, in fact I went to the opening of it. It was opened by an actor from Brookside, who I was in love with at the time but who's name escapes me now. I thought it was Schuh, but could be wrong. I tell you all, the last time it was a shoe shop was around the turn of the decade 1980's -90's and it was Ravels at the time. I went in when it was vacant and that was the livery displayed within. It's also on the property management register as such
