911wasalie Posted August 5, 2011 Share Posted August 5, 2011 Yes it was Tysack Sons and Turners, My father was a scythe grinder there in the 40s and 50s, he worked at Beauchief, where the industrial museum is now, before that. I was working for ww Axe and sons, Painters from Nether Edge painting the works around 1943. They made scythes, files, and other small tools. Most of the scythes went to Russia.
