JenC
Cleared up the kitchen to "Someone to drive you home" by the "Long Blondes" - best shouty girlie vocals of all time by Kate Jackson - can't underatand why it doesn't fly off the shelves - Debbie Harry and Chrissie Hynde are lightweights in comparison. And talking of lasses with a Sheff connection, Roisin Murphy's "Overpowered" is on sale today - she can knock Madonna and Kylie into the proverbial cocked hat. C'mon you Sheffield punters - go for it - with the Monkeys, Reverend & the Makers, Richard Hawley, Long Blondes, Murphy etc we should be riding the crest of the wave as the creative heartland of this country. Longcol is not related to any of the above, is 52 years old and is fed up of his mates who think music ended with the Stones, Clapton etc. Someone to Drive you Home is a great album to dance to Have to say I wasn't impressed with Reverend & the Makers album...saw them on tv at glasto (I think it was glasto) and they looked great, but the album didn't do much for me. I've been listening to Shotters Nation - babyshambles. Oh and a lot of Bowie and Hendrix.
AJ sheffield
Uninvited by Alanis Morisette. She's depressing enough to be a warm up act for Radiohead but that tracks excellent. The newly released version by the Freemasons features Judy Tzukes daughter Bailey is a bit more lively.
