Golliwogs - love 'em or hate 'em?

Recommended Posts

loooooooool just been out round whitby, saw an antiques shop with LOAAADS of ******* in the window (aswell as some old rupert annuals - 1 was 1953) must be a sudden resurgence in golliwogs

Wasn't the antique shop just over the bridge (sea on your left) first street on the left, was it mel ?

We stayed in a great flat behind there (off season deal)

We like Whitby :)

yeah i saw some in a fabric shop the other day. perhaps its cos of the name they were errr 'outlawed' cos 'wog' kinda turned into a racist slur

The dolls weren't "outlawed", the word "wog" was. We should, they say, just call them *******. Golli or Golliwog, I still like em and they're still just a toy. The PC brigade :loopy:
