barnsleybroker
Hi, Does anyone know of any unchlorinated swimming pools in the area, that are open to the public (or could be for a reasonable charge?) thanks
Plain Talker
I'm sure that all public pools have to be chlorinated, for health and safety/ hygeine reasons.
Vrsaljko
I'm sure that all public pools have to be chlorinated, for health and safety/ hygeine reasons. I was thinking the same thing, it would be pretty grim swimming in water that isn't chlorinated.

barnsleybroker
I'm told that some are treated with ozone instead of chlorine - same germ-killing properties, but doesn't aggravate skin conditions like eczema in the way that chlorine does. user10239
AFAIK ponds forge is ozone treated, rather than chlorinated - the lane swimming pool is 50m lengths 25m widths and tuesday and thursday nights you get all 50 metres to swim. hope that helps
barnsleybroker
Thanks Carl, I spoke to Ponds Forge and they treat their pool with a mix of chlorine and non-chlorine stuff, which means the chlorine is 1 part per million (chlorinated pools can apparently be 3 or 4 parts per million). Now I just need to get the Eczema Association to tell me what that means!
