Span
Well, I took the plunge and had it done and it is fantastic! I can't recommend it enough. It cost me £75 and was worth absolutely every penny!
Pauline BHG
How curly is your hair though, naturally ? Mines is proper curls, like a new perm (when wet). Takes me about 1/2 hour to blow dry, which straightens it out a bit but it's HUGE, then about 35/40 mins to straighten. Does chemical straightening make your hair straight when wet ?? Span
My hair is very thick and coarse and i've got lots of it! In a morning it takes 20 mins to blow dry and 10 mins to straighten and my hair is only short. Chemical straightening does make your hair straight when wet. It has also thinned mine out. It is fantastic - I feel like a different person. Can't recommend it enough!!!!

bizzle
I have got two hairdressers one who styles in doing hair straightening for afro/european hair she is fab and also my other hairdresser she speacialises in the Yuko hair straightening. Jennifer Aniston started the rage with the Yuko back in the day when she was in friends and her hair was worth it and now celebs like Gwen Paltrow and Madonna have it done. If it is good enough for them it is defo good enough for me. The Yuko is defo worth it (no pun intended) but some people think it is expensive however I personally dont because it is worth it. Cost is between £120-180 depending on how long your hair is. Only thing I was not keen on with the afro relaxes was after a while it leaves your hair very dry and thin. With the Yuko your hair really does feel soft and silky, with a really good shine and it lasts upto to 8-9 months unlike the other hair relaxes which last upto five months.
