I live with him and most things about hair belive it or not i do know since i have been brought up with family who are hairdressers...He did also say its hard to tell as they have to see the persons hair because what one can do to one persons hair might not happen to anothers.

My dad doesnt do computers very well anyways but thats a different story.

So you have a vested intrest in the business.... that was what i was referring to what you said above

Why are you still continuing this? As you live with him, just ask him does the hair have to be virgin or is coloured hair OK.

There is a difference between bleached and coloured hair.

Can you just not ask him what are the limitations. I would not book/they should not do such a procedure without a consultation and a strand test.

Ask him what system they use and i can search on the internet.

Why don't you tell him about this thread and get him to write something.... I do not live hear Hairband and I did about the procedure what the receptionist was useless, said that the lady that does it will call me, but they never did.

Coloured hair is usualy fine but its best to have it tested on one piece of hair as you can still get complications etc.

Who was the receptionist you spoke to because if it was abit ago it is very likely that one of them doesnt still work for us and i think i may know which one it could of been.

Because he isnt in the country that is why geez.

It's called JL-Ion

Q: Who will need 'IHR' treatment?

A:

Anyone who has natural curly, frizzy, dehydrated hair and hair that is lacking in vitality. IHR can be used on all hair types, including permed and colour treated hair.

Taken from the website of the brand....

eh?... i do not understand your the sentence...

The website says it can be used on all hair types so I am not sure what you are trying to say...

Anyway without going into the salon and getting a strand test, I will not know the result but I would rather have knowledge of the system as it is a lot of money and I doubt they have done the procedure often.

In other words what it says on the website is right but WE as a company have to cover our back by saying that complications can arise

  • 6 years later...

hi

I have just come across this post. Just wondering if any one knows which salons/places in sheffield or nearby offer the Yuko hair straightening..

Many thanks

I have got two hairdressers one who styles in doing hair straightening for afro/european hair she is fab and also my other hairdresser she speacialises in the Yuko hair straightening. Jennifer Aniston started the rage with the Yuko back in the day when she was in friends and her hair was worth it and now celebs like Gwen Paltrow and Madonna have it done. If it is good enough for them it is defo good enough for me.

The Yuko is defo worth it (no pun intended) but some people think it is expensive however I personally dont because it is worth it. Cost is between £120-180 depending on how long your hair is. Only thing I was not keen on with the afro relaxes was after a while it leaves your hair very dry and thin.

With the Yuko your hair really does feel soft and silky, with a really good shine and it lasts upto to 8-9 months unlike the other hair relaxes which last upto five months.
