VOLUNTEERS WANTED in Netherthorpe, Upperthorpe and Langsett

Are you interested in volunteering in the Netherthorpe, Upperthorpe & Langsett areas of Sheffield or do you live in these areas and would like to get involved in your community?

 

The Netherthorpe & Upperthorpe Community Alliance is a voluntary community organisation and we are looking for people who can spare a few hours to support or help others in the community whilst gaining personal experience, skills and training.

 

We are recruiting for the following opportunities:

 

Cafe Support Volunteers - The Healthy Living Centre, Upperthorpe require people who can spare a few hours a week over the lunchtime period. The Volunteer will help to clear tables, wash pots and take food orders. Opportunity for taking Food Hygiene certificate available.

 

Nunet volunteers - Nunet is a community website for the Netherthorpe, Upperthorpe and Langsett areas of Sheffield. It is managed and run by local volunteers and we are always looking for new people to join us. All that is required is an interest in computers and that you live in the S1, S3, S6 or S10 areas of Sheffield.

 

Young People's Platform Volunteer's - Volunteer's are required to provide one-to-one support to young people and assist in the delivery of activities and provisions. This opportunity is based at the Community Alliance and the Young People's Platform and other local sites.

 

Sports Volunteers - Volunteers are required to provide assistance to coaching staff, in the delivery of activities and events undertaken throughout the year.

 

Homework Club Volunteer - Volunteers are required who can spare a few hours on one afternoon to supervise, assist and support young people with their homework. This local homework club runs during term time. People are encouraged to apply from the S1, S3,S6, and S10 areas of Sheffield.

 

Senior Homework Club Volunteer - This is a new club which we would like to run in 2008, so we require volunteers who have the skills and/or experience of GCSE subjects and can support and assist young people at this level. Please get in touch if you are interested in this vacancy.

 

Home Learning Volunteer - Are you interested in supporting adults on a one-to-one basis teaching English as an additional language? No teaching experience is needed and training would be provided.

 

Childcare Volunteers - We require people who would like to gain experience and training in childcare. You would work alongside qualified childcare staff to develop your skills and experience. We encourage people from the S1, S3, S6 and S10 areas of Sheffield to apply.

 

The Community Alliance will provide expenses and childcare costs as well as costs for training. Plus you will receive full support and guidance while you are volunteering.
