  1. 1. Which local sides will be relegated at the end of the season?

We are now over 80% of the way through the season and getting towards the crucial Easter period of make or break matches. There are around 6 to 8 matches to go and quite a few of our local teams are languishing at the wrong end of the table, and some of them look doomed barring a winning streak and gaining 16 or so points from their remaining fixtures. So who will suffer the dreaded drop and have nightmares over next seasons League fixtures?

Sheff U will hopefully stay up - don't think it'll be Charlton that goes in their place though... Wigan will have to do worse than the Blades.

Hull are looking safe, Leeds will stay up.

Barnsley down (although I haven't seen their fixtures so it might be different)

Rotherham are sunk and it may be the same next year. Bradford and Chesterfield - one of those will stay up. Hunch says Bradford because they're the bigger club, not that that usually means a lot.

Halifax will survive - they'd better. Scarborough look doomed in the Conference North league below as well, although still possible to survive. A once proud league club destined for decimation.

What a contrast to last year when, apart from Scarborough, at worst clubs treaded water. The promotions, the cup runs. It seemed like Yorkshire was hitting the crest of a deserved wave like the Lancashire gits have had for so long.

This year promotion wise across the entire region it's... good luck York City in the Conference play-offs.

Barnsley will be lucky to stay up. Amongst their remaining fixtures - they've got home matches against Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Birmingham City, whilst they've got aways against Southend (a massive six-pointer), Ipswich, and for the final match of the season - West Brom at the Hawthorns. Now if they have to get anything out of that match to stay up...

It will be a big effort for united to stay up with there injury problems and lack of form, leeds looked alright going forward against preston on friday night but they were shambolic at the back so i can see leeds and united going down to be honest.

Barnsley look dodgy but they have a canny way of pulling very good results out.

With Sheffield United, their biggest hope is that four of their last seven are at home, and their homes include matches against Wigan, West Ham and Watford, with an away at Charlton. And at least their match against Manchester United is at Old Trafford - now just imagine if it had been at Bramall Lane instead.
