RichK
Hi, I just thought I'd mention that this year's Trunce series has started just outside Sheffield (at Oxspring near Penistone). This races are perfect for anyone who might be interested in trying fell running, or for road racers looking for hill work to sharpen up their times. Each race is around 4 miles, with a couple of fairly serious hills and difficult terrain, but nothing too nasty. You splosh through a river three times too. Not just for beginners, but excellent if you're thinking about trying it out. It runs every three-ish weeks until the clocks go back (next race: 16 April) and is just outside Sheffield. Full details http://www.trunce.org.uk (I've no connection with the race, just like doing it!)
Jonnymango
This is an event that I was looking for. I'm considering getting into fell running and this race looks ideal for me. Thanks Richk
RichK
You'll love it - a friendly no nonsense croud. Just turn up well before the start, find a little white van on the field and go to pay up and get a number. If you're getting into fell running, another good one coming up would be the Tigers Todger in May, see http://www.totleyac.org.uk/race.html. Bit longer than the trunce, but not too hard (also the Totley Moor and Blackamoor Chase - the ExTerminator is a lot lot tougher) Good luck with it!
