John
Should spitting in football be banned full stop? I am not on about spitting on players but for the whole of 90 minutes of the game. Should TV stop showing close up instead or is this whole ban the spitting idea just stupid? If it should be banned how can it be enforced and what should the punishment be? mrchinnery
I think it's better for them to spit out sputum rather than swallow it. It's quite normal to produce large amounts of sputum when undertaking so much heavy breathing. The idea of swallowing sputum makes me feel sick; besides that, I think the players are running about so much they are so out of breath they can't stop breathing long enough to swallow. Jonesy
Anyone who has ever played 90 minutes knows that your throat can get clogged up and mess with your breathing, you just have to clear it sometimes and it's not like they're going to stop play for you to do so into a hanky or something! Lickszz
As long as your not directing spit at someone else then I don't have a problem with it.
