JazzaBing
Anyone written a book - but a non-fiction book? If so how hard was it to get published?
hennypenny
I have co-written some of the content for a book, but it is being published by a graphic design company who are organising it all, and inserting loads of graphics, I haven't yet seen the finished product. This is what someone else wrote in answer to a similar question on another forum today:- "It's actually quite easy to self-publish these days. http://www.lulu.com is a 'print-on-demand' self-publisher. Basically, you have to write, format and upload your content, choose the layout and style of book, pamphlet etc you want to produce. They tell you the production cost of what you choose and then print copies on demand. You can choose to have your books only available to you, if you want to order in bulk and distribute yourself, or you can make it available to buy on lulu.com or you can buy a distribution deal with retail outlets. There is a bit of a learning curve as you get used to their way of doing things and the jargon involved, but essentially it is a cheap and easy way of producing very professional publications. There are a number of online tutorials on the site."
Rich
Hmm, interesting... I remember years ago I used to write stories in English at School, and my old teacher (an American) said she looked forward to one day reading my first novel.
