harvey19 Posted January 25, 2015 Share Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) His service records were most probably destroyed in the blitz of 1940 but you can try MOD Historical Records Section at Glasgow to confirm. The National Archives at Kew will have the medal rolls(different to medal cards) which will show his regiment and battalion. The information on his medal card will be sufficient to do a search. Am currently trying to find out more about my great grandad who served in, WW1, he lived in Sheffield but was born in India- so not sure he would fit your criteria. Good Luck.
