richynomates
Always thought it is a bit of a waste to have such a nice building all boarded up, but the planning applications for last week include one for the former Salvation Army Citadel opposite the Peace Gardens. The applicant is a Buffalo Joes, who have a bar in the Newcastle area. Been doing a bit of looking, but no doubt some of Sheffield Forum's members might have been. Is it any good? Is it the sort of thing currently missing in Sheffield city centre? They might not get it, but the application is there...

Mouseman
Still, it's better than that dump of a Hostel - hopefully the awful theme bar will last 6 months and then be taken over someone with more taste. Best of both worlds with then result!
xafier
we dont need that in sheffield! you seen the pictures? its looks really cheesy and ewwww... dont we have enough crappy stuff in sheffield?
Danb1
That's typical of Sheffield! I think Living Rooms (really nice pub co) were looking at that place and got knocked back. Now there will be another sh*t pub in another beautiful building (think walkabout). Sad, sad, sad, sad, sad.
mimicraze
yeh, and on the website, they call themselves the "FUNNEST" bar in town...right. need i say more?!!
boyface
As a novocastrian I can confirm this place is utter dogsh@t aimed at stag nights, hen parties or people devoid of any social or musical taste and are pleased by a party popper and a £3 glass of crap beer. Truly awful.
Skatiechik
I went briefly into the Buffalo Joes at Newcastle briefly a couple of months ago. Yes it was really cheesey, but lets say the women in their weren't leaving much to the imagination. Good place for the blokes I would say, Certainly not my sorta place though
richynomates
well remember guys, it's only at the planning application stage. maybe they'll get knocked back. there are loadsa new appartments directly above, and it'll clash with the NRQ, so maybe policy will be to refuse a bar there. looks like fingers crossed for that then! I agree with Danb1 - we need a Living Room or a Pitcher and Piano.
