SnailyBoy
So would I! There's more evidence of an increase in Driving related deaths and an increase in Cancer related deaths too. The health of the nation is getting worse according to top studies and that's down to more and more people not eating properly as opposed to smoking, drinking and driving. Having said that. Driving makes people lazy, Pollutes the atmosphere, causes no end of illness's, therefore is a bigger hazard than most things that are "detrimental" to our health. Will the government place a blanket ban on this? NO, they won't as it would send the country into melt down. The Smoking ban is about appeasing the do-gooders who have ruined the very ethics and core of this country. This WAS the country of the Free, it's now the country of the oppressed, forever watched and bound by stupidity and "political correctness". The very laws that have now been extended beyond what they were supposed to represent is the very reason this country is failing. In the spirit of fair play...........I'd like to see evidence of this

Driving emissions are also a strong source of Carbon-Monoxide, which is one of main poisons that Smoking pollutes. Smoking related deaths are often mis-interpreted as it's a mixture of chemicals that are causing certain illness's. Smoking holds some chemicals related to lung cancer, as does Petrol, Oil, Pollen, water vapour amongst others. Scientists, or Journalist mainly, find something linked to a certain disease and only mention 1 product, not all products that contain the same chemical, so smoking often gets bad "press" as opposed to driving. And I'm an ex-smoker ffs! There is a strong argument for both sides at the end of the day.

SnailyBoy
Smoking isn't the only killer that contributes to cancer as well as other illness's. Nobody said it was. So are you saying smoking shouldn't be banned in public buildings because there are other ways to get cancer and other illnesses other than smoking? You've not been allowed AFAIK ever to walk up to someone and punch them in the face, so why should you be allowed to poison them?
