Hi all, my Dad, Henry Ashmore, was born in 1931 and lived the Manor up to about 1956, when he married and moved to Dagnam Crescent on Arbourthorne. He was one of five kids and the family lived at 417 Queen Mary Road, his sisters Gert and Annis and brothers Bill and Oliver. He went to Prince Edwards School. He passed away last year (it was exactly a year on March 24th). Any posters on here know of him or the family and have any stories they'd like to share?

I lived at 89 The Circle from 1947 to about 1950. had one year in Pipworth road school. Spend many happy hours on the old allotments which became the Littledale estate then playing 'King of the Castle on the mounds of earth they excavated when building started.

I think that School may have been St Theresas on Prince of Wales Road, I lived at number 123 Harborough Avenue and I remember the Argent family among others. I went to St Theresas but it wasnt a convent School she may have gone to Notre dame but you only went there if you passed your 11 plus I think. My Brother in Law Jim Dolby lived at No 92 but Im afraid all the houses have been demolished.

Hi, you mentioned the Argents from 78 Stonecliffe Road, this was my grandparents.

Lilian Argent her brother and sister and six step brothers and sisters the Hardwicks lived there for many years from around 1931 upto 1950 ish.

Lilian Argent married John Newstead and my father also John Newstead was born there in 1941 and his sister Jean in 1944.

Does anyone remember the Newstead,Argents,Hardwicks who all lived in the same house.
