We have to stop those pesky witches using the shell as a boat Agreed! - And when you build a house which has a chimney, don't forget to make sure that there is a protruding ledge (and please make it wide) by the chimney so that a passing witch can, if she is feeling a bit tired, rest there and isn't tempted to go down your chimney to find somewhere comfortable. Witches are serious business! - You don't want to cross them. The last witches trial where I grew up was in 1914. She was convicted, but she only got 8 days at hard labour. My very, very, very English great-aunt (born 1884) told me that I must always do this, and at age 69 I still do. My adult sons have never really believed that this isn't a figment of my imagination, so I have sent them the poem. And of course we're not crazy!
