Memphis Bell Posted April 16, 2004 Share Posted April 16, 2004 I went to Hunters Bar school and we had Loxley (Blue) Porter Red) Rivelin (Green) and Sheaf(Yellow) Loxley, Porter and Rivelin all used to support each other because everyone hated Sheaf ! For some reason all the really elite kids who were good at everything used to be in Sheaf. Ooh! the glory and celebrations when our team (loxley) one both the obstacle course and the sack race on school sports day!! It made a change - we were the worst team in the school, we never won anything else! Halcyon days! Then i went to secondry school and everything was ruined! Bah! I went to charnock school where the houses were named after famous people of days gone by CHANTREY (red) NIGHTINGALE (yellow) the best one - especially at the relay race on sports day BRINDLEY (green or blue) HARDWICK (green or blue) who cares which was which because they never won anything anyway!! anybody else remember charnock school ?
