Rotherhamer
Does anyone else think it's highly irresponsible that so many newspapers have shown this photo? Many of them have led with it today on their front pages. By all means show the girl, but why is it necessary to show the women as well? If the girl in the picture is not Madeleine McCann, these women are being plastered all over the media as potential child abductors. I'd be livid if it was me in the photo. I would have thought because it will probably easier to find the woman,Iv Googled the place name and nothing comes up so I im guessing its not a very large place and if they are residents there it shouldnt be that hard to find them
Kingmaker2
Ok, I haven't been keeping up with the topic this week, and only read the last page. I've looked at that picture purdyamos, and I don't think it needs face recognition. If that was a very close relative of mine, or someone I had known all my life, I could said yes or no. Based on that picture. As I previously suspected, this girl is NOT Madeleine. Here's a close up picture of the little girl in the photo. http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/09_04/NotMaddyES_468x579.jpg

angle20
MADELEINE McCann died after tumbling down steps outside her family’s holiday apartment, a team of British police claim. They think she stumbled and cracked her head on the floor after waking up and looking for her missing parents. That is the shock judgement of Brit officers brought in to search the family’s apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, with sniffer dogs specially-trained to detect blood and death. Last night it was alleged that it was UK detectives – and not their Portuguese counterparts – who first raised suspicions about the possible involvement of Madeleine’s parents. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/view/16865/KILLER-STEPS

angle20
We are talking the "Daily Star" here;) OK, "Daily Telegraph" version: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/10/01/nmaddy101.xml Portuguese police believe Madeleine McCann died after falling down a flight of steps and that her parents panicked, hiding her body because they feared being blamed, it was claimed yesterday. It was alleged that the four-year-old smashed the back of her head on a ceramic flagstone at her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz. angle20
Gail Walker in the Belfast Telegraph comments on the harassment of the Moroccan peasant family by the McCann 'Find Madeleine' spin operation (third item of Opinion piece): http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/opinion/article3018748.ece Desperate as Gerry and Kate McCann's plight may be, the media's coverage of them continues to disturb. As I've said before, there is no balance, no objectivity, just layer after layer of schmaltz, bias and spin... Reports about the "dramatic twist" in the story, were illustrated with a grainy image of the child and adults, and stuffed with the usual racist rhetoric. What could a fair-haired, western looking child be doing with a band of dusky-skinned vagrants?...
Clare85
I had a really horrible dream recently about Maddie being found. I told my boyfriend and he then told me his mum had the same dream a few weeks ago. Freaked me out at the time!
