banesmabes
They were incredibly naive to leave the children the way they did, it shows a distinct lack of common sense on their part - even if abduction didn't come to mind, what about accidents? Even if the door to the apartment had been locked it's hardly responsible to leave three toddlers alone, even for half an hour - they could have got themselves in all sorts of bother. But maybe the holiday atmosphere made them relax too much. Unfortunately for them they are now facing the absolute worst case scenario of their child having been abducted and probably murdered. I understand that there has been a small campaign pressuring Leicestershire Social Services to pursue the couple for possible neglect. I hardly see the point in this though. They obviously love their children very much. They just made an incredibly stupid mistake. I'm sure no one feels more guilt and anger over that decision than they do. mr contrite
The parents of missing Madeleine McCann and some of their friends have been accused in a Portuguese magazine of hiding behind a "pact of silence". Kate and Gerry McCann were among a group of nine people eating out at a tapas bar on the night that the four-year-old was snatched from her room nearby. Members of the party checked on Madeleine and two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie every half-hour, and insist they were acting responsibly. But an article in Portugal claims the group have agreed not to talk after forming a pact. http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,91210-1277150,00.html Seems like others are questioning their version of events. Mr.Contrite, that story about the "pact of silence" isn't really new news, it was mentioned a few weeks ago. Not really sure why Sky have only just reported it? banesmabes
are they actually any closer to finding her?? I'd have thought that as the length of time since she disappeared increases, the chances of finding her decrease

angle20
More McCann gossip: Daily Express article The Sol report said Murat, 33, has been asked by detectives if he knew one member of the group – hospital consultant Russell O’Brien, 36. It claimed police spoke to Dr O’Brien after it was discovered the pair were both in Exeter days before Madeleine was kidnapped. Murat spent 10 days in there, arriving back in the Algarve on May 1 – 48 hours before Madeleine was snatched. Dr O’Brien and his partner Jane Tanner, also 36, moved to a rented home in the city four weeks earlier. Miss Tanner was the key witness who saw a man rushing away from the Ocean Club resort carrying a child wrapped in a blanket.
Glennis
What is the report saying? Murat and the hospital consultant, have conspired together, and that the women friend is covering for them? Hope this isn't libel?
