andco
We were in London a week ago and got a Oyster Card. Kids go free under 11 (think other kids either go free or get a reduced fare). This is a much better way of doing it. think you'lll find kids go free anyway with or wihtout an oyster card.
okka north
Our kids do not go free. If going from Killamarsh I pay $1.10 each way into Sheffield. Then if we need to jump on a bus or two I have to then pay 40 p for each journey. So I I want to go to different places in one day around Sheffield it costs more than a day ticket and they won't let me buy a day ticket for my child. Children under 11 have to be accompanied by an adult in London for the tube.

My son has an 11-16 Oyster card and his friend is 10. The tube staff let him through when they travel together.
j3nni383
i also like the fact that if u do not have a oyster card in london then all bus fares are £2 per journey yes this maybe more than a single fare in sheffield but it certainly speeds things up. i used to live on the outskirts of london and still found i spent less on travel that i do here in sheffield. the oyster card would be fantastic if it could be adapted 4 use up here the more u use it the cheaper the journey becomes. all buses/tram inspectors would need to do is scan the card on boarding the turnsiles would then not be needed

So the bus is not sat at bus stops while people sort out fares and wait for change from the driver. I do wish they would get on and do something. I'm getting fed up having arguments with drivers over SY Day Trippers and having to make sure I have the correct fare for single journeys.
Parapou
I think I may have seen a card reader installed on a bus today. Is YorCard finally on the way??

If Southerners want ladida Oyster cards they can keep 'em.... I will, in fact I love mine so much I have two of them. We now have prepay cards for the evening standard. You pay online for your newspapers and get them for 35p each instead of 50p each.

Cyclone
Hardly going to be the same as Oyster unless first agree to use it as well and all the minor operators.
