The Cricket, Totley

The Cricket Inn has changed hands.

It is now owned by a new company called BrewKitchen. Behind this venture is Jim Harrison from Thornbridge Hall along with Simon Webster, teamed up with Richard and Victoria Smith who own the Thyme, Artison and Catch restaurants.

It is no longer to be run as a seperate pub and restaurant - it is now one big dining area that can seat up to 100 covers in a ‘pub that does good food’.

It reopens following refurbishment soon, and I assume the bar will feature beer from Thornbridge Brewery.

I went last night when we found the cupboard was bare and it was a warm evening.

Yummy food, very similar style to what was on offer before but quality is great again! More beers too, hurrah Thornbridge is there but a work night is not a night for Jaipur!

Inside hasn't changed hugely, just smartened up and looking good. plus restaurant end is now part of main pub, which is common sense.

Only downside is prices are still at the top end for a pub IMHO. £3 each for pints of fancy lager, cheapest bitter is £2.40/pint. Ouch.

But the Cricket is deffo back on our list!
