eastbank
i went to thornbridge left in 1970,attended a school reunion last year at ridgeway, still see some of my old school mates in the birley hotel, lived on the newstead estate which is now flattened. preferred birley school when thornbridge was a grammer school, and their awful green uniform, hated my schooling when it went comprehensive, could not wait to leave.. Intrigued, was it true? Mr Robertson was the head, followed by Earnie Wise?
