dean1
Hi Dean1 My great grandfather was kia 18.5.1915 aged 33 .not sure of the battle but his details are Private Harry Savage Service No 3/3391 1st Bn Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry . He is buried in Leige (Robermont) Cemetery Belgium. Grave Ref 13. He lived in Martin Street Sheffield. If anyone else has anymore info on him i would be very grateful.[/quote Hi Gracie, thank you for sending in Harrys details, much appreciated. 1st KOYLI were part of 83rd Brigade, 28th Division. They landed in France in January 1915, then up to the Front. After lots of casualties at 2nd Ypres reinforcements were needed, and 1st KOYLI found themselves in Belgium. The reinforcement group was dissolved on the 19th of May, a day after Harry died. hope this is of some help. Dean
