Hi Steved32

This was the year after me. Though many of the names I recognise, some close friends who I am no longer in touch with.

I hope he will prove me wrong but I believe John Smalley has passed on to pasture greener (RIP).

Very Sadly , after prolonged illness , John passed on a few years ago . We lived within 1 mile of each other for over twenty years without realising it , met again via this forum , and subsequently managed to have a few giggles at our drum from time to time, along with a few invited fellow Stalag - Waltheof internees . A Good Lad gone.

I served my time there 65 to 71.

Here are some names that spring to mind.

Anyone still around?

Very sadly I can’t remember any girls’ names with enough confidence to add them to the list.

Any help out there willing to make additions?

I’ve not read the whole of this thread yet but what I have is very interesting.

I can add a few names to this list, myself leaving in 1971.

Some of these left in 1970. I believe ours was the last year that had the option of leaving at 15.

Sad to hear about John Smalley. I too often frequented the little house on the green.

DARNEX I think we may be acquainted, a good clue would be if you recognise the term C15?

No Pm Yet , But from the names you mention it sounds like you are from the year before us. ? ( we Left Wtf. Easter - 71 ) there were two escape tunnels per anum in those days , though a few went over the wire for various reasons...........

Just tread carefully on here , it is not a secure website and personal info often gets hacked . Paranoia rules .................

Cheers.

Have a think about an aubergine 100E, a green 1500 MK1 cortina (rubber side up) and a white/red mini.

Well some of comments from likes of Ben Holland ransom Shipley didn't leave much to the imagination

Today they would be in so much trouble

Many a time Ben Holland blackboard rubber narrowly missed me

I think that's why my hair is white today it's the bloody chalk dust

Some of Ben Holland's classics that spring to mind.

“What have you drawn this with, a poker?”

“Bring ink anywhere near my room and I will flog you until you howl for mercy”.

“Take those grubby paws to the well at the rear and soil some of the clear liquid that emerges from the fountain”.

“Take yourself to yonder little boys’ room and bring back several sheets of tracing paper”.

Picture this. Thumbs behind braces, bending knees, a rasping fart followed by “good <removed>”.

Step out here my scruffy little manikin , and let me lay some willow across your sweaty little palms !

I must not swear, you are only little boys , yet.

Upon espying " titch" Wright outside the medical room , who had a desire to become a jockey .

Ben proclaimed " what's the matter Mr Wright ? have you fallen at the first ?

Priceless.
