Darkoak
Went in on the last Bank Holiday Monday (if that is since the kitchen re-furb) and the food was plentiful and delicious. Wouldn't know if the menu had changed recently though.
raskel
It was nice, but most tables were reserved. But we got in, id book in future.
kevinmgallen
My wife and I used to go to the (old) Plough most Sundays, especially in winter. We were delighted when it reopened with a good selection of beers at the right temperature (it was always too cold when the old landlord was there and it was a while before you could drink it). Sadly things were not to last. Once the food side reopened the place turned into a cafe. All the tables (even the ones right in front of the bar) have place settings and most of them are reserved. We did try to give it another go last Friday because many of the other pubs with decent beer were shut. We walked in, saw nothing had changed and walked out again. We went to the Strines - they serve food but give you the cutlery, etc., when and if you need it.
barns101
I went on Friday with my other half and we were given one of the tables that had a reserved sign on it. The food was reasonably priced and we both enjoyed our meals. The menu is fairly limited at the moment (the usual pub grub) but there should be something to suit most tastes. hennypenny
We are thinking of going here this week, has anyone been recently? Is it good for food, or should we not bother?

It's a multi-roomed pub - the lounge is given over to dining at meal times, with drinkers socialising in the tap room where the snooker table is, or if the weather is decent, out in the beer garden. Andy C
I haven't had food at the Plough yet, but when Chris & Many ran the Nags Head the food was fairly decent there, and I think the menu at the Plough is along similar lines.
hennypenny
Well, having got the thought in my head we decided to go there this lunchtime, and I am glad we did We had a lovely meal, everything was just right, with very good sized portions, and it only came to just under £30 for the 4 of us, so not too bad price wise either. The whole pub does seem to be given over to dining, but that isn't a problem for me as I only go to pubs for meals anyway. We managed to get a table without any problem and although it was busy, everyone I saw got seated without a wait. They sell our cow molly ice cream too We will definitely go again - and probably soon.
