CHAIRBOY
One would have to be 50+ to have known Peter Wordsworth around Sheffield amateur sporting circles but I have just learned that Peter has suddenly passed away during the last week with a cancer illness. He was a member of Sheffield Hallamshire Golf Club, President and a one-time first team member of Rustlings Lawn Tennis Club. He played soccer for Sheffield Falcons FC and was generally a local sports' enthusiast; season-ticket holder at Hillsborough. Peter worked as a purchaser at Hallam University. Anyone knowing you Pete will be saddened to lose such a sporting Corinthian, aged 72. The crematorium had many people standing, there were so many wanting to pay tribute to Peter at the service on Monday 25 June. He left us with these words on the order of service. "Grieve not that I have died. Rejoice that I have lived". So typical of a cheerful man whose cup was always half full!
