With rising energy costs, business rates, staffing costs and insurance it takes a lot of business to keep these small pubs open. They may cost 20p a pint more but if you dont want your drinking choices limited to souless branded and themed brewery owned and operated pubs such as Wetherspoons and LLoyds and 'Sizzler' Pubs, maybe make a little extra effort when you are out to visit places like the Bath Hotel, Red Deer, Fagans and Devonshire Arms, to name a few in my area.
