landofoz
Hi, I recently purchased a tea caddy made in Sheffield in the 1800's by the Shaw and Fisher company. The tea caddy was made of Britannia metal and silverplated. I have tracked this company to Sheffield, but that is about all I know. I am hoping that someone in this part of the world collects Shaw and Fisher items or know something of the history of this type of item. I am trying to decide what to do with the tea caddy. Most of the silverplate is gone, leaving the pewter type material that was the base metal. I have made inquires about having the tea caddy replated, but I don't know if that is the correct thing to do. Any help would be most welcomed. Thanks.
