PopT
I was brought up to drink very strong tea which my mother always called 'Irish Tea'. She kept a large teapot on a trivet attached to the front of the fire fret and fed it with tea and water. The tea would stew and become so strong it made you shudder when you drank it. That tea was the strongest I've ever tasted anywhere, even over in Ireland where I have had tea added to water and then boiled up for a time. I still drink strong tea but nowhere as strong as that. My brother still drinks his very strong though, putting as many as 9 or 10 tea spoons of tea into a pot. Has anyone else had the same experience or made tea this way? Happy Days! julado
And the Irish tea would ALWAYS be accompanied with biscuits. Tea, of any strength, without bikkies was referred to as English tea.
