Forgotten sportsmen & women.

I have just been talking to an Olympian who was a Commonwealth champion as well.I was dismayed to hear that they have to pay to go into Ponds Forge.After all it was people like these that helped to get the city the title city of sport.I am not talking about the well paid athletes of this era,I am talking about the older ones i.e. the pensioners, who were true amateurs.I think as a recognition of their past triumphs they should have free passes to all sporting venues & meetings in the city. I am talking about the athletes who were born & bred here.
