in the sunday papers today it has been reported that west ham are after jagielka, and after having a bid turned down, warnock has warned them not to return with a higher bid! does this mean we are not selling him or that weve already eccepted a bid ????

hope not, we could really do with keeping jags next season!

It means West ham have been told to sod off basically as he is staying, they have reportedly offered £3m which is what Jagielka was valued at before he signed his contract extension. So we have turned down two premiership teams (who will most likely struggle anyway) for the signature of Jags.

Looks like keeping beckett form going to oldham was a plan as we are reportedly looking at signing young French midfielder/defender Jean-Alex Baptieste from Macclesfield. The talented 19 yr old has been praised by both Nicolas Anelka and Patrick Viera and we could use beckett plus cash to smoke him out and bring him to the lane.

Why would Jags go to West Ham they are relegation fodder,I have read about the kid from Macclesfield & he sounds too good to be true,if he is as good as they say,Warnock should go & get him now, nothing about Helguson in the papers.UP THE BLADES

I still think we should keep Beckett. He has not had a chance yet and has always scored goals. I know some people think he was spoiler transfer but I was glad that we brought him and we should use him.

Anybody remember the plans that Reg had for the ground in the early 80's

Jags would be mad to go now- warnock has already said he wants 1 more year from him and then he can go, they have noly signed him on a new contract so it makes them more money when/if they sell him next year.

im glad beckett is staying too- the kid is determined to cut it at this level so i say why not give him a chance- its not like he has been given a proper run in the team yet.

SHEFFIELD United are unlikely to pursue their interest in Mansfield's Alex John Baptiste after the League Two club priced him out of the market. This kid is not even in the squad at Macclesfield & they are a 4th division team in old money, how can a team like Utd be outpriced for a 19 yr old who is not in the 1st team,Beckett a known scorer in the lower league's cost £50.000 ,how much is the kid worth Mansfield are having a laugh.Anyway we have some cracking youngsters in the reserve team so why bother,we have the like's of Roma,Forte,Gyaki who has had a great time in the under 20s for Canada in one match he scored 4 goals,so let Macclesfield keep the little french lad & they will regret there actions on outpricing this kid.UP THE BLADES

right firstly it is MANSFIELD baptiste is at, you got it right first time round.....

as for comparing him to our young players, he is a tottally different player to gyaki/forte, and roma apparently is better as a right/left back.

but we need to do something for centre half, and if this baptiste is as good as people make out then why not make an offer, the thing that has apparently deterred warnock is the 6 figure sum quoted to him.

apparently we turned down £150,000 for beckett too, so perhaps we might make a tidy profit on him if we dont keep him
